On some Samsung phones, the Decathlon Outdoor app may be automatically stopped in the background. This distorts your data, interrupts GPS tracking, and may display a straight line on your route. Here’s how to configure your device to avoid these issues.

Step 1: Automatic Configuration in the App

When creating a route, the app guides you:

  1. When the message Allow running in the background appears, click Next.

  2. When the message Always allow in the background appears, click Allow.

⚠️ If you skip this step, the message will reappear each time you try to create a route to warn you of a potential GPS interruption risk.

Step 2: Manual Configuration in Settings

If the problem persists, configure manually:

For Android < 12

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Apps > Manage apps.

  3. Find Decathlon Outdoor.

  4. Click on Battery.

  5. Choose Don't optimize or No restrictions.

For Android ≥ 12

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Find Decathlon Outdoor.

  4. Click on Battery.

  5. Choose Unrestricted.

Helpful Tip

Disable the battery saver from the notification bar. This mode can interrupt GPS tracking and distort your data. Decathlon Outdoor is already optimized to limit battery consumption.

If the Problem Persists

If GPS tracking continues to stop despite these settings, contact our support via the form available in the app or on the web.
