To ensure the quality, safety, and consistency of the Decathlon Outdoor catalogue, our moderation team may modify certain elements of your creation: the GPS track, statistical data (duration, distance, difficulty, type of sport), the title, the description, or the photos. These adjustments are not intended to distort your outing but to make it clearer and more accessible for the community.
The GPS track of my creation has changed
For safety and quality reasons, our team may adjust the track of your outing if it passes through:
a private area,
an area deemed too technical (alpinism route, for example),
a fast road or too close to one,
a segment unknown to our mapping tool (OpenStreetMap).
These adjustments may modify the duration and distance of your route.
The duration and/or distance have changed
Our estimates are based on an average speed to make routes accessible to as many people as possible.
On foot: pace of 3.5 km/h, with an addition of 1 km for every 100 m of positive elevation gain.
By bike: pace of 15 km/h, with an addition of 1 km for every 100 m of positive elevation gain.
→ Example: a bike route of 50 km and 1000 m ascent will be estimated at 4 hours (50 + 10 km / 15 km/h).
Durations are then rounded to the nearest quarter of an hour for better readability.
The difficulty level is defined by our team based on the distance, duration, and elevation gain.
The title or description has been modified
Our team may adjust these elements to:
correct spelling,
avoid duplication,
improve understanding,
highlight points of interest on the route.
👉 You can contact us at any time if you wish to propose a new modification of the title or description.
The photos have been modified
Some photos may be deleted or moved to prioritise those which:
showcase the landscapes,
feature the fauna, flora, viewpoints,
present intersections or start/finish points.
🚨 Photos of identifiable people (selfies, portraits) are automatically deleted to respect image rights and GDPR regulations.
Key takeaways
Our adjustments aim to enhance your outings and facilitate their publication.
Your creations retain their uniqueness but are adapted to meet quality and safety criteria.
The goal is to share reliable and attractive routes with the whole community 💙
