If the application cannot detect your location, it is possible that access to your geolocation is disabled. You can easily check if your browser or device allows access to GPS. Here are simple steps to enable geolocation and allow the application to use your location.

Check permission on your device

Depending on your phone or tablet, geolocation may be disabled.

On Android

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Go to Location.

  3. Enable geolocation.

  4. Then open app permissions and check that the Outdoor app is set to Allow.

On iPhone / iPad

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Privacy & Security.

  3. Tap Location Services and enable it.

  4. In the list of apps, open the Outdoor app and choose While Using the App (or Always if you want to be guided without interruption).

Check the location mode

Many devices have several modes:

  • High accuracy / GPS + network (recommended)

  • Device only (GPS)

  • Battery saving

Make sure the chosen mode allows the GPS to obtain an accurate position.

Check if other restrictions are enabled

Some options can block GPS:

  • Airplane mode enabled

  • Privacy restrictions

  • Battery optimisation preventing location

  • GPS connection disabled in quick shortcuts

A quick visit to the control centre / quick panel may be enough to check these settings.

By enabling geolocation in your settings and allowing the app to access it, you will get an accurate position and can fully enjoy the guidance features 🌍
