On some Huawei phones, the Decathlon Outdoor app may be automatically stopped in the background. Result: the GPS tracking cuts out, your recordings stop, and your data (duration, distance, route) become inaccurate. Here is how to configure your device to ensure reliable tracking.

Why does the GPS cut out?

Huawei phones include battery optimization settings. These close certain active apps running in the background, which interrupts the GPS tracking of Decathlon Outdoor.

Steps to fix the issue

  1. Open the Settings on your phone

  2. Select Apps > App launch

  3. Search for Decathlon Outdoor

  4. Uncheck Manage automatically

  5. Make sure all options remain checked under Manage manually

  6. Confirm with OK

Helpful tip

Turn off the battery saver from the notification bar. It can reduce GPS accuracy and interrupt recording. Decathlon Outdoor is already optimised to limit battery consumption.

If the problem persists
