On some Samsung phones, the Decathlon Outdoor app may be automatically stopped in the background. This distorts your data, interrupts GPS tracking, and may display a straight line on your route. Here is how to configure your device to avoid these problems.
Step 1: Automatic configuration in the app
When creating a route, the app guides you:
When the message Allow background operation appears, click Next.
When the message Always allow in background appears, click Allow.
⚠️ If you skip this step, the message will reappear each time you try to create a route to warn you of a risk of GPS interruption.
Step 2: Manual configuration in settings
If the problem persists, configure manually:
For Android < 12
Open Settings.
Select Apps > Manage apps.
Search for Decathlon Outdoor.
Click on Battery.
Choose Do not optimise or No restriction.
For Android ≥ 12
Open Settings.
Select Apps.
Search for Decathlon Outdoor.
Click on Battery.
Choose Unrestricted.
Helpful tip
Disable the battery saver from the notification bar. This mode can interrupt GPS tracking and distort your data. Decathlon Outdoor is already optimised to limit battery consumption.
If the problem persists
If GPS tracking continues to stop despite these settings, contact our support via the form available in the app or on the web.
