On some Xiaomi and Redmi phones, the Decathlon Outdoor app may be automatically stopped in the background. This distorts your data, interrupts GPS tracking, and can disrupt your recordings. Here is how to set up your device to enjoy smooth and accurate tracking.
Step 1: Automatic configuration in the app
When creating a route, the app guides you step by step:
Go to the Create tab in the Decathlon Outdoor app
When the message “Allow background activity” appears, click Next
When the message “Always allow in background” appears, click Allow
💡 If you skip this step, the message will reappear each time you try to create a route to warn you about the risks of GPS interruption due to incorrect settings.
Step 2: Manual configuration in settings
If the problem persists despite the automatic configuration, follow the steps below:
Open the Settings on your phone
Select Battery & performance
Click on the Settings icon (gear)
Tap on Clear cache automatically when device is locked
-
Choose Never
Helpful tip
Disable the battery saver from the notification bar. This mode can reduce GPS accuracy and interrupt recording.
The Decathlon Outdoor app is already optimised to ensure good battery life and reliable GPS tracking.
