Before going on a hike, you can check the elevation profile of a guided route directly in the Decathlon Outdoor app. This allows you to anticipate the difficulty and identify the most demanding sections of your outing.

How to view the elevation gain of a route?

  1. Go to the description page of the selected route.

  2. Click on Trip Details.

  3. Click on the map.

  4. Browse the elevation profile located below the map to visualize the elevation gain at each kilometer.

How to interact with the elevation curve?

  • By clicking on the map, you access not only the distance, duration, and total elevation gain, but also the elevation curve.

  • You can place your finger on the curve: the map will then show the exact location corresponding to the selected elevation (for example, the highest point of the route).

  • By pressing and holding your finger on the curve, you will see appear:

    • the remaining distance to reach that point,

    • its exact altitude.

Key takeaways

  • The elevation curve is accessible from the description page and the map.

  • It allows you to visualize the overall difficulty and precisely explore each section of the route.

  • You can interact with the curve to identify key points (altitude, distance, position on the map).
